Looking ahead to the year in gaming, we picked out the top titles across the formats that we can’t wait to get our hands-on. Get saving and feast your eyes on these…
- Medal of Honor: Warfighter (release date: 23rd October)
Here’s an introduction. To begin with, what’s a warfighter? Warfighters are real, living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. And they exist on an international level for various nations around the globe. Guess what? you get to control them! How awesome does that sound?
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted (release date: October 30)
The driving model of the game has been described as “deep, physical and fun”, not as arcade-styled as the Burnout series and Hot Pursuit, but far from a simulator. Most Wanted has a range of real-world vehicles, a mix of muscle cars, street racers and exotics, described as “the wildest selection of cars yet”
- Skylanders Giants (release date: October 21)
As much as i hate to admit it, i love that purple dragon; and i cannot wait for this release. Skylanders Giants is a direct sequel to the 2011 game Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. As the title suggests, it features larger Skylanders known as “Giants”, along with other new gameplay mechanics. Despite not containing “Spyro” in the game’s title, he will still be playable in the game.
- Borderlands 2 (release date: 18 September)
To be honest, i haven’t played the first Borderlands to comment on what to expect from the second rendition of the series. However, my younger brother absolutely loves it, and is impatiently waiting for the release. If you enjoy comic action and “shoot em up” types of games, then you’re in for a treat.
- Angry Birds Trilogy (Q4 2012)
Think of this game as the ultimate collector’s edition. There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition, all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution big screen.
